BRIEF HISTORICAL SUMMARY :

The Kintamani dog is a common houshold pet in Indonesia. This breed is native to the village of Sukawana in the distric of Kintamani in Bali. The Kintamani comes from the region an area with mountains, vulcano, and forest. These breeds coats were marked with many color. Hair color ranges from all black to all white, with variations of banding, spotting, blazes, tricolor, and blended gray. These dogs are used for companion. The breed took on the name of the region where it was originated. It was designated as a Indonesian breed in 2006. It is claimed that the breed were most closely aligned with the Australian dingo and distanly related to breeds of Asian. Therefore, the Kintamani dog has evolved from Balinese feral dogs with loss of genetic diversity.

GENERAL APPEARANCE :

The Kintamani dogs are small to medium size, well balanced and muscles well developed. The dog has erect ears and triangular shape and sickle tail. The coat is thick, bantly wavy and long at withers, tail, and thigh. The conformation is strong, well boned and compact. The dogs have good appearance. The personality of Kintamani dogs are bold, easily to trained and not aggressive.

IMPORTANT PROPORTIONS :

The ratio of height at withers (the distance betwen the top of the withers and the ground) to length of body (from the point of the shoulders to the point of the buttock) is 9:10.

BEHAVIOUR / TEMPERAMENT :

The personality of Kintamani dogs are bold, easily to trained and not aggressive. Also intelligent, gentle, and high loyal to the family.

HEAD

CRANIAL REGION :

Skull : The size is in proportion to the body. The forehead is broad and no wrinkle.

Stop : Defined.

FACIAL REGION :

Nose : have a black color and grey colour permitted.

Muzzle : Fairly thick, wedge-shaped and tapering.

Lips : propertie of the lips is tight

Jaws/Teeth : Strong, with a scissor bite.

Cheeks : Relatively well developed.

Eyes : The eyes are light brown to yellow and ovate in outline and are somewhat obliquely oriented.

Ears : The ears are erect and triangular shape.

NECK :

Thick and muscular, without dewlap, in balance with head.

BODY :

Back : Straight and strong.

Loin : Broad and muscular.

Chest : Deep, forechest well developed, ribs moderately well sprung.

Belly : Well drawn up.

TAIL : Set on high, thick, The tail is sickle shaped, the tip nearly reaching to the hocks when let down.

LIMBS

FOREQUARTERS :

Shoulders : Moderately sloping and developed.

Elbows : Tight.

Forearms : Straight and heavy-boned.

HINDQUARTERS : Well developed, strong and moderately angulated.

FEET : Thick, round, arched and tight.

GAIT : Resilient, light, and free.

COAT

HAIR : The coat is thick, bantly wavy and long at withers, tail and thigh.

COLOUR : These breeds coats were marked with many color. Hair color ranges from all black to all white, with variations of banding, spotting, blazes, tricolor, and blended grays

SIZE :

Height at withers : The dogs stand tall at the withers, bitches 44.65 cm and dogs 51.25cm.

The weight dogs, 15.90 kg and bitches 13.14 kg

FAULTS :

Any departure from the foregoing points should be considered a fault and the seriousness with which the fault should be regarded should be in exact proportion to its degree.
